The Biological Efficacy Testing Laboratory, also known as the Vector Ecology and Control Laboratory, operates under the Department of Biology and is authorized by the Ministry of Health of Türkiye to conduct biological efficacy tests on products used against public health pests in Türkiye, such as mosquitoes, houseflies, sand flies, cockroaches, ticks, and other pests. In addition to public health pests, this laboratory conducts research on pests found in forestry, agriculture, and veterinary fields, including insects and mites. Alongside biological control studies, the laboratory also investigates pesticide resistance that may emerge in pest populations. The laboratory provides services to numerous municipalities, private pest control companies, and public institutions across the country.
