Molecular Microbiology Laboratory

About | English

The Molecular Microbiology Laboratory is equipped with the necessary infrastructure for classical and molecular microbiology studies. Research conducted in this laboratory includes:

  • Molecular cloning
  • Determining minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC) of antibiotics
  • Investigating bacterial resistance to antibiotics and heavy metals
  • Assessing biofilm formation in bacteria
  • Characterizing plant growth-promoting bacteria (PGPB) properties, including siderophore production, ACC deaminase activity, phosphate solubilization, and indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) production
  • Identifying factors influencing bacterial virulence
  • Isolating and identifying bacteria from natural samples using molecular techniques

Additionally, antibacterial testing, DPPH and ABTS analyses, and determining total phenolic and flavonoid content are performed.
