The Ecotoxicology and Extraction Laboratory is a research unit operating within the Department of Biology. It focuses on obtaining extracts and essential oils from various organisms such as plants, lichens, and algae using different solvents and distillation techniques.

In this laboratory, plant-derived extracts are prepared using a range of extraction systems, primarily the Clevenger apparatus and the Soxhlet extractor. The chemical composition and biological activities of these extracts are subsequently analyzed.

Additionally, the laboratory conducts ecotoxicological assessments of the obtained extracts. These studies include investigating their impacts on non-target organisms, providing insight into their environmental safety and ecological interactions.
